Washington, D.C.

Do you ever fail to take advantage of how close we live to the nation's capital? If so, you're not alone. Despite being a short 45 minute drive from all the city has to offer, I rarely feel like venturing up 95.

But David came to visit this weekend (hooray!) so we decided to swing by the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. We probably would have spent more of the day up there and seen a couple more museums if the wind didn't make it feel like 19 degrees and we'd worn hats and gloves. But at least we did something!

For Hungry Shark enthusiasts, the Megaladon teeth are a fun exhibit.

You can pay $6 extra to go in their butterfly tent. That's $6 for fifteen minutes of magic!

I always forget how cool the Smithsonian museums are. And for free! Ridiculously good deal. If you haven't taken your child recently, go! Go now!
